On...well everything. part 1

Okay so spring break.

So the friday before spring break, Travis, Rachel (who goes to DU) and I went to Japan Night at the Bluebird theater. There were 6, yep 6, Japanese bands. Pretty freakin sweet. They were all good. I really liked the Emeralds who were 3 matching males and hilarious.

(in a cute Japanes accent, in between songs)
"We like cranberry juice! *takes a swig of cranberry juice* Denver, do you like canberry juice?!!? This is our favourite song to drink cranberry juice to!"

I got to meet the Emeralds afterwards and they signed a CD for me. One of the guys (bassist maybe?) really like my shirt (punk Hello kitty).

The drummer came up and was like:
"Oh we love Denver! We only been here two hours, we love Denver. But we not trying Rocky Mountain Oysters!" *we all laughed*

Tsu Shi Ma Me Rei rocked the house. I got to meet them as well and bought a t-shirt. They were adorable and punk at the same time. The guitarist was dancing around in a pink frilly dress and totally rocking out. The bassist was both creepy and awesome at the same time, she had her long hair in face and did some creepy ass backing vocals.

After the show I met Jay, who is one of my long time listeners who works for the Denver Zoo. That was really neat. As I was talking to him I suddenly had a very drunk Jessica (who does j-pop on 1190) hanging on me. She was praising Tsu Shi in a drunken slur and comparing them to Shonen Knife. She is so adorable.

So Saturday, Trav and I went over to Amanda's and took care of he dog. Like I said Xander is uber sick, poor puppy. We played Scene It, Scrabble, Monopoly and did laundry. The only thing I beat Travis at was Scene It, he kicked my butt at the other games.

Sunday, Trav and I went down to Denver. We found the malt shop from "Things to do in Denver When You're Dead" and took pictures. That was a bit of 20 min search because we only had a clue from the movie to go on. We were so happy when we found it. We're dorks.

We went to the library but they were closed for another hour, so we decided to grab lunch. Having a craving for malts, we went to Johnny Rockets (since the actual Malt shop was closed and soon to be turned into an art gallery). The malt was weak, more like a milkshake. We then headed back to the library, and dropped off and picked up stuff. We didn't spend too much time there.

On the way back we stopped at Costco cause we needed to pick up stuff. We also got some alcohol and went back to Travis'. Got drunk, watched "God is Great, I am Not" which is a good movie with Audrey Tautou however, with the booze, Travis situation, I cried at the end of the movie and didn't really stop. I was insanely depressed.

Monday, I don't recall right now what we did Monday. Weird. I am sure I'll remember.

Tuesday, went to the Denver Natural History Museum (yeah I know it has a new name but they changed it when I was living in Australia so I still call it that). Lines were long long long but we got to see Body Worlds. It is AMAZING. Totally recommend it. Really really really interesting. I'd love to go to Germany and see the bigger exibits.
We spent about 3 hours in Body Worlds, and after lunch at Pete's Greek Cafe (yum), we had to race through the rest of the museum. So we wandered through Hall of Life, and the stuffed animals, the Mummies (which I hadn't seen), and the new space exibit (which I also hadn't seen). I want to go back this summer and wander through the new stuff at the musuem some more. We also played in the gift shop for kicks.

Had Wendey's for dinner and hung out. I crashed on Travis' counch so that we could go to the Zoo early in the morning.

Weds, went to the Denver Zoo. We got in for free thanks to Jay. woot! There were tons of kids and their parents. I packed a lunch and albeit a little windy, it was really fun. We were having lunch when this mom came up and asked if he kids could see the gnome. I said sure and then asked if I could take a picture with the kids and the gnome. She said sure. It was a cute picture. Has to be the coolest/weirdest mom I've met. She rocks.

Got some great pictures with Larry and a squirrel. We were taking a break on a bench when a squirrel came up and tapped Travis on the shoulder. It was so weird! We got great photos with Larry and the squirrel. They are on facebook if you haven't seen them.

Okay I need to lay down for a bit. I am still really weak and sick from the ER visit on Sat. so I can't sit up for long periods and am just exausted.
