Harry Potter Meets the Crazy College Kids
We went and saw Harry Potter tonight. It was myself, Richard, Jen, Jason (paleo-J), Amanda and I brought Larry along for gnomish kicks. Bringing a lawn gnome to a movie always gets a look.
If I weren't so comfy in my warm blanket I would get up and grad my camera and the cable to download the pictures. But it is cold in my room, so you'll have to wait.
We left early and went to Borders. Mostly hung out in the GLBTQ section.
Hung out there for a while and then deicded we wanted some ice cream. At Cold Stone, the nice lady that served me was asking me about Larry and where I got him. I took a photo of her and Larry. I really wish I could rememeber her name but right now I am stumped.
We decided to stand in line, 2 and 1/2 hours before the show....
...we are dorks.
Jason and I went on an adventure in the mall to buy a deck of cards. We ran into another group in Spenser's, also looking for a game to play in line. We did get a deck of cards which between Jen and Richard singing Cartoon theme and Disney songs and the cards, it kept us entertained. We were the first ones in line for a good half-hour.
We made a friend in line, Megan. She played cards and sat with us. She was funny. We told horrible roommate stories over games of Asshole and Egyptian Rat Screw (ERS). ERS reminded me so much of this summer playing cards with the high school kids in Drivers Ed during breaks.
The movie was good. So much of the book was left out. I know they only have 2-3 hours but still. Common.... no Dobby? or Mrs. Weasley? *sigh* Snape was defintely more comical. They really should have made the movie in two parts. And it needed better transitions and to slow down. It was like Cliff Notes: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on speed.
I cried at the end of the movie. I cried at the end of the book. It's just so sad.
Richard hated the movie. He was so mad that so much was left out and/or changed. Jen and I were less critical about it.
Gimme a head with hair...
Got my hair trimmed earlier today. It was kinda uneventful. Saw on of the other 1190 DJs on the bus (I know her name, but it's 4am, how am I supposed to rememeber names this early).
I got the weirdest question when I was getting my hair washed. The hairdresser says "So are you working tonight?" It was out of the blue, so I said "Excuse me?" And she repeated the question, I had heard her right. I was just wearing a Mickey Mouse t-shirt, jeans and the Norwich hoodie that Amy gave me. I didn't look like a professional....or so I thought. It was nearly the only thing she asked or said when I was getting my hair cut.
It's like meeting someone and then as a conversation starter asking "So did you have chicken salad for lunch?" Totally out of the blue. It's a valid question, just kinda weird.
When I was coming back I decided to take the Hop to the Hil. I was standing at the bus stop and the 205 came by. This little old woman waiting for the bus, stood and waved at the bus to stop. The driver waved back and drove on by. It was odd. The woman and I talked for a bit, she was really sweet. She made me smile. I hope she got home alright. I love little old ladies. Reasons why I love taking the bus sometimes, the nice random people you meet.
I went to the Hill and got Passion Fruit Snow Bubble with Boba and Pananag Chicken Curry. Boba is a wonderfully odd Japanese drink, usually made with milk tea and large tapioca balls (which are called Boba). "Passion Fruit Snow Bubble" is a slush made with passion fruit and boba in the bottom. There are like 75 different types of Boba drinks at Bobaliscous on the Hill. I love Boba. It was a Boba kinda day. I started today all depressed because of the medication but forced myself to get up and get out. I'm glad I did.
Hey Ms. DJ...
I got accepted as one of the 10 people in Boulder to the Red Bull Music Labs. I am super excited. They train you on this great music production equipment and you create a music track. It'll be fun and challenging. I've done some remixes but this we be a major leap.
Charlie Brown Tree
I put up my Christmas tree. I know it's early but it's so pretty. Rachel made the star topper from a soda can. I love my $3 thrift store tree.
The Point of The Point
Travis and I decided to watch The Point last night. I love it. So did Travis. It is such a trippy cartoon. "I have no idea what is going on." - Oblio
And sometime in that movie, neither do we Oblio.
...
Alright I should maybe divert my attention. I can't sleep because of this medication so I am going to stay up and DJ with no sleep (gah, the exsistance of a weekend morning DJ).
Current Mood: Wish I could sleep but meh.
