Can't stop

Writing spurts come at 2am when I am suddendly wide awake or driving my car or the middle of a concert. Everytime there is not a pen or paper nearby. Luckily I have been brining my laptop to the station for the "writing inspiration while DJing" moments that are frequent.

I can't stop writing recently. I am far too discriptive and abstract to write stories, also I get bored trying to write them but lyrics, I've been working on frequently. Right now I have about 4-5 songs that are in my head that I am working on. When I write lyrics... I don't just put in down as poetry, but I can hear the beat, the way it should be sung, etc. I think at some point very soon I am just going to explode in this fenzy of creating music and writing, it's just building up.

My dreams are still vivid but less memorable. I end up waking up in the morning and little things remind me of my dream. Like putting on my chucks this morning reminded me of someone commenting about my shoes in my dream. The only things I tend to remember is people. I can remember the guy I keep dreaming about was in my dream and what we did but less of the context of why.

I've given up trying to understand why he is my dreams every night. So meh.

Other life stuff. Yesterday Rachel, Dad, and I went to Estes Park Highland Games. We had fun wandered around, it was anywhere from hot to bitter cold, and changed every 20 minutes or so. Luckily I didn't have migraine problem. We had lunch and Guiness (or for me Black and Tan). Rachel found out she had Welsh heritage and bought the scarf with her tartan. She just got back from Peru and brought me back CDs and candy and mini-pan pipes. She leaves for Lester, England to go to grad school on Sept. 29th. I saw Amy's grandparents (although Ames, your grandma didn't really remember me... lol). Petted doggies (I want a wolfhound now...), saw tiny dancers running around, and looked at the new Utilikilt designs (they now have a "the spartan" which is like a workout kilt for the gym or leisure). There weren't as many people because I think the weather scared them off.

I met the lead singer Kirk from the band Seven Nations and talked with him. We saw them in concert last night and they were awesome. The opening band (Brother) was lacking and I've heard them before when I was in Australia... they are like jam band meets bagpipes and didge. They'd be okay if they were instrumental, the lyrics are pretty weak. Anyway Kirk has my e-mail, they would have done some sort of in-studio or interview this weekend but they are supper busy with shows so he's going to keep and touch so that we can plan something in the future hopefully.

I really would like to rearrange my room soon, I am not sure I can really move stuff around though... I kinda would like to turn my bed so that it is lengthwise along the wall so I can also use it as more of a couch and open up the middle of my bedroom... going to measure today and see if I can work something out. (this only makes sense if you've seen my apartment and if you have, please give me ideas). I am going to check on how much homework I have and then clean for a while.

Oh so I've been playing Twilight Imperium with Ben, Matt (engineer at the station) and a few of their friends. I am totally addicted to this game despite the fact that I suck. I am getting mariginally better each time I play... and Matt tends to help me out alot, and the other guys will give me advice and answer my questions for the billionth time because I still haven't grasped and the complex details within the game. It's a really fun game but a couple of times I have gotten really exausted or migrainey (cause of the fucked up weather) and kinda given up or not paid attention at all. The last game I played, I really sucked at, oh well.

Anonym hat gesagt…

I must have scared Ben and Matt off with my 31337 Twilight Imperium skillz so much that they never invited me back.

It's lonely at the top.
