Boys in the Hood

So when school started, I started laughing...at freshmen.

I was walking across campus at night, coming back from the Welcome Back fest at the UMC. Two female freshmen were walking behind me. A male freshman catches up with them on his bike. This is the conversation the ensues.
Boy: "Soooo....where are you ladies going tonight?"
Girls: (fit of giggles)
Girl 1: (still giggling) "The Planetarium."
Girl 2: "There is a laser lightshow."
Boy: (in a sleazy and interested voice) "Ohh...really?"
Girl 1: (giggling) "Really."
Boy: "Who is playing?"
Girl 2: "They have Pink Floyd at 10."
Boy: "Oh. Cool."
Girls: (giggling)

Aw aren't the freshmen so cute, playing the hook-up games. I was totally cracking up at how obvious this guy was.

Speaking of little games we play, I have updates on the boy front.
Now to tell the truth, I am pretty damn happy being single and me. I decided to take myself off the dating scene for a while, and I am standing by that...doesn't mean I can't window shop though. (or as Londyn said, "It's not dating, it's flirting!")

For a while I was sort eying one of the RAs on the Willard staff, and flirting with him but not so much now. I think he's dating one of the girls on the staff. So I'll be friends but flirting is off limits.

Last night Travis (former resident Trav) and I hung out. I was dressed as a gothy school girl, he as a crazy 88 from Kill Bill. We hit Pearl Street and then went to my floor meeting. After the floor meeting we were talking to Matt, Alvin, and Daniel.

Okay, so for those who've heard description of these boys, I will apologize...but here they are (with a few updates).

Daniel - Think Chris Shepard (if you know who that is), for those who don't know who I am talking about, Chris was my stalker in high school..and for 30 other girls as well...we have creepy stories. Yes, when I saw Daniel, I thought it was Chris. I freaked. Same sort of awkwardness, and appearance. Daniel is a 1st year grad student in Law. Which is creepy cause Chris wanted to be a lawyer.
Needless to say, I have a hard time talking to him, because everytime I look at him, I am reminded of Chris. I've almost called him Chris too.

Alvin - Alvin, Alvin, Alvin. This kid seems to be addicted to two things....Halo and anime. We can see why he likes to hang out with me. He kinda reminds me of anime-boy from CU-Denver (ask me if you don't know the anime-boy story). Yeah, Alvin is a def fanboy. But that's cool.
Alvin is a freshman and seems like he is hitting me, which is um awkward. He really isn't my type. Maybe he's just being friendly but I dunno, it seems a bit too friendly.

Matt - Matt is also known as "the William Shatner guy". I walked by his room one day and he was playing "Common People". I didn't recognize at first and asked him wheat he was listening to "um...William Shatner." I of course got excited that someone listens to Shatner which surprised him. Matt is an English major but we had like an hour conversation about History the other night.

So Matt said he wanted to go play pool, and was like "we should go play pool!" I was like "Okay", Travis "...what?", Alvin decided to join us and we went to the Hard Drive Cafe but all the tables were taken, so we went to Connection in the UMC. We played a few games of pool. On the way over we discussed movies, it is pretty telling of a person what movies they watch. (Except 'Salo' that movie is an exception to all movies, it is a scar that will never heal). Anyway for example I own Bubba Ho-Tep, Ghost World and Harold and Maude. I am weird. Matt has some of the same movie taste. Alvin likes (can you guess it?) anime. And we all know Travis is a goth kid at heart. We are so going to dye his hair black.

I'll admit it. I think Matt is kinda cute and he seems pretty intelligent. I'd like to at least become friends with Matt. I dunno, I think he was kinda hitting on me too. It was funny who was trying to get my attention more, Alvin or Matt. Alvin is pretty loud, but Matt is subtle and can work his way into a conversation. I prefer talking to Matt.

Travis, was Travis, and quiet most of the time we were playing pool. (Travis is looking over my shoulder right now).

Alright so I give up on RA in Willard, new plan, flirt with Matt.

Now I am off, I am painting faces of little kids at the GLBT Block Party.
