This week has been a bunch of bus rides to various places around town to doctor's appointments.
And even though I have felt pretty shitty all week, guys keep checking me out. I find it amazing, I didn't have anything on my face or was missing clothing.
Here's the scoop:
B bus to Boulder:
This guy kept looking back and glancing at me and tried a couple attempts to make conversation but I wasn't interested. And I know this makes me sound like a total bitch but as always I had my headphones on (my massive DJ headphones) and was staring out the window. Plus I wasn't feeling too well and just wanted to get off the bus.
At Noodles and Company at Alpine and Broadway:
I get my Thai Curry Soup and sit near the window at a table in Noodles. I am eating quite efficently with chopsticks (I was doing pretty good with a rice noodle soup) and two guys walk in and take a table near mine. The entire meal they kept looking over and staring at me, and then would talk in low wispers. I didn't recognize them but they did talk about me.
Cold Spring Park n' Ride and the 17:
This one guy kept staring at me and eyeing me. (Do have a sign on my head that says "Men, look at me.")
That was Day 1....
So today here's what happened:
76 to Lakewood Commons:
I am on the bus to go home from my dentist appointment, and this is a long one hour bus ride on a local route. As I am on the bus, 4 teenaged girls get on dressed to the hilt and then a couple stops later, 3 scruffy teenaged boy get on. As they walk to the back of the bus, they utter some comment to the girls sitting in front of me. Now my headphone are great at blocking out outside noise but I hear one girl say "In your dreams creep". At this point I decided that if the boys made a move toward the ladies but wouldn't take no for an answer, there'd be a bus smackdown and I'd be in the middle of it standing up for the girls.
A few stops later, goth boy gets on. Goth boy has long dark brown hair and a mustache and neck beard (minus a few points for the neck beard), a black Yellow Submarine T-shirt on, dark jeans and a messenger bag. Now the only reason I call him goth boy is because his entire outfit was black. He chats a bit with the girls and seems to be interested in talking with them. They got off a while later, and eventually so did the scruffy dudes.
With the girls off, Goth boy shifts seats a bit closer but still a few seats forward and diagonal. He undid his long hair fron the hair ties and let it fall on his shoulders. Now I have to admit, when he did get on, I did think he was pretty cute. He did have nice hair too....anyway. He kept glancing my way but as soon as I turned to looked at him, he'd look away. It was like a game of cat and mouse. See how long we could look at eachother before we turn away. At one point he got up to through something away up front and as he came back to his seat he looked directly at me, I know because when he got up I decided to look at him and we locked eyes until he returned to his seat.
Him: Why the hell does that girl keep staring at me???
We both got off at Commons. He got off the front door, and me the back door, we passed eachother and locked eyes for a moment as we avoided the other passengers outside the bus. I had to go catch the 17 so accross the street I went, he was on the right side to catch his intended bus, the 3. As we passed, that was where he was headed since the 3 was right behind the 76. I checked the timetable accross the street, then I saw him head my way then suddenly turn around to catch the 3 as it was leaving. I honestly thought he was going to say something to me.
It's been a while since someone caught my attention like he did. It was silly I know, but it ment something to me. I should have pulled off the headphones at least or maybe even say something ("Nice shirt"). Maybe he's having the same thoughts, maybe not.
I have to catch the 76 next week to go to a follow-up dentist appointment, maybe I will see Goth Boy again.
Apparently I have got it going on, or I look reealllly funny.
