Part 1: Karaoke is Japanese for 'Bad singing'
Okay so a while back, a few weeks ago...Jason (paleo-boy) and I went to Bloc Party. Well we didn't actually get to see Bloc Party because poor Jason got clobbered in the nose by some asshole during the 2nd opening band (who was really cool and the lead singer Emily gave me a CD after the show and would love to come on 1190 when they come back in town)...but anyway Jason talked all night about how I should front their band (being Adam and Jason and sometimes this guy Rob).
Those who have heard my desperate wailings during Karaoke will say "My god, do NOT put Steppie in front of a mic!" But then again, does anyone sound good doing Karaoke...?
Why do you love me? Why do you need me? Always and forever... We met in a chatroom, now our love can fully bloom... Sure the world wide web is great, but you, you make my salivate... I love technology, but not as much as you, you see... But I STILL love technology... Always and forever. Our love is like a flock of doves, flying up to heaven above... always and forever, always and forever... Why do you need me? Why do you love me? Always and forever...
I might to record me trying to sing and then play it back and listen to it. Considering I hate the sound of my voice, it may take a few beers to either make me sound good or make me think I sound good.
Let me know if you think I should sing or if it's a bad idea (as always anon comments allowed).
P.S. I just found out Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) was born in Ft. Collins. Friggen' Sweet!
Part 2: I heart hippie-yuppie town
I love Boulder. I really do.
A couple weeks ago I spent the weekend with Ben. It was a ton of fun, crashed at his place after playing Halo 2 with Matt Hulse (1190 enginerd) and Peter of the Norse (1190 computernerd and just as his name sounds, he's like 10 feet tall). I played so much Halo 2 that weekend, I did not touch the controler for a week afterwards. I am really suprised I did not get gamer thumbs.
On Sunday, Ben, Matt and I all went out to lunch. Matt told some really fabulous stories about hacking and smuggling software. I then played more Halo while Ben tore apart a couple of computers. We finished off the day by playing soccer on the Buisness Field. It was a blast. I still have a bit of a bruise from taking a soccer ball to the gut that Hulse kicked. During the game we got distracted by a tiny itty bitty whittle kitten named Dakota. Her owner had her out playing in the grass on the sidelines. She was 7 weeks old and just 2 pounds. She climbed from my arms and onto my shoulder. So cute! When she purred, her whole body shaked. Her owner said she got her from a lady in Boulder who rescues kittens.
Yesterday I spent the day in Boulder, again!
I had to go up for a doctor's appointment. I get to wear, yippie skippie, a heart monitor halter. I get it on Thursday. They want to make sure my dizziness and migraines aren't caused by any heart issues. I am scheduled for an EKG at the end of the month.
I also delt with some Xbox issues and had to take it Boulder to get it traded in (and I am happy to say the new one is great thus far).
Next door to EB Games was this fabulous little Japanese place called Twin Teriyaki. I had Teriyaki chicken and rice. I was blown away it was so good. They used Bunashimeji or Shiitake mushrooms (although I have never seen a Shiitake that small). They were playing Korean, Japanese, and American pop. It was a nice little Japanese family running it, their little girl was maybe 2 or 3 and so adorable.
I really love Boulder, the sun was shinning, the HOP bus drivers are so nice...it was great.
