Not quite 420...more like room 320!

Today we did some in hall training with our RA staff. So I was the only new one who knew the building realatively well so I lead a tour around the building (the returning RAs don't get back till tomorrow). A couple of the RAs were looking for some extra funiture for their rooms and seeing what the rooms on the different floors were like (all the doors are open).

So we stop by this room, #320. And one of the RAs notices this hole in the wall that is about 3ft by 3ft (about that size) and can see light behind where the hole it. So he crawls through it and there is an attic area. There are christmas light strung in a circle on the floor around two makeshift tables of wood and cinder block, chairs (some stolen from the study lounge downstairs) , a futon, and a couch (also stolen from downstairs). There are about ten beer bottles on the tables and cigg butts everywhere. And graffiti EVERYWHERE! (I think my favorite funny quote there is "Buddha found enlightenment in 40 days, I found it in 40 oz.")

What is really dangerous is the smoking with no venilation and they tapped into the electrical system to hook up the lights.

After digging around a bit with flashlights we found some Boulder maps from 1976 and blueprints from 1933 (the building was built back then). Way in the back of the attic we found another area with trash and candles, tables covered in wax. So much dust. We also found a small box with foil lined in it and potting soil, both used to grow plants (I am sure someone was taking good care of their orchids up there...*sarcastic nod*).

The graffiti goes back from 1998-2000 and then from 2002-2004. We also found on piece of graffiti that says "CHIP 1976".

We found a phone number amoung the sayings and names and so Nick (one the the RAs) called it. He turned up the volume on his cell phone so we could hear him and "Nicky G" answered and said he was a "pimp daddy". He was was either stoned or drunk when we called and apperenly lived up in one of the 4 person rooms in Sewall a few years back but was still going to CU.

Yeah so wow. Like I am totally amazed we found this, it's like something from animal house or something. Nick is taking pictures so hopefully I will be able to share some. all I have to say...WOW.
