Another music related job??

I talked to guy in charge of music and entertainment for the Daily Camera today. He's looking to have 1190 DJs write new CD reviews for both the Camera and a new mag he's putting out for college kids. He wants me to write a sample review and sumbit it to him, he said if he can get funding for the project we might even be compensated for our work. It'd rock if I got a extra job like that. We'll see, I am not the best writer in the world.

I am trying to figure out what new CD I could write a review on. I thought of TY's album "Upwards" which I love, The Streets, which althopugh I like it, would be a challenge to write about. Wannadies rocks my socks but is a few months old. I kinda wanted to pick something from the new 1190 CDs that I like. I think I may just end up doing TY. We'll see how iut goes.

I picked up some cool stuff at the library. A couple origami books that look like fun. I also found a few CDs, one is Ballroom Dancing..I love that old stuff, another is a 3 CD set of Eastern European music that was discovered after the rise of the Iron Curtain, and then some World CD I have never heard of.

In my digs through the sci-fi books I found a Ray Bradbury book that looked interesting AND a really funny book of Star Trek: Next Gen episode parodies written in the style of Salinger, Hemmingway, S. King, Vonnegut, etc. I read the first episode "The Crusher in the Rye", cracked me up. Great for the literary and ST geeks.

So yeah bought some Basmati Rice at Wild Oats, wish the chicken was thawed so I could make Coconut curry or yellow curry soup tonight, ah well, maybe I'll have P'ho tonight (Vietnemesse Beef soup with rice noodles), or I could make one of those heat and eat 'em Indian meals with rice. I need to dishes, it's ridiculous. Maybe tonight. Actually the reason I am not cooking anthing else just has to deal with I don't have any meat thawed to cook rather than no real cookware clean.

Alright well I am going to mess around a bit more on the computer and just hang out. :)

Plates? Who needs plates? You take a few instant dinners (there are decent ones out there) save the plastic thingies in which you heat the food, and voila! an entire set of matching dishware! Now pots and pans are of course, a different story, but as for plates, that's easy! Or of course, you could go thrift storing for plates and just make sure you wash them really well (like with bleach), but I like my plastic trays :-D
