I went to the zoo yesterday withTravis #1 (former resident) and Travis #2 (Physics) and Larry. We had a ton of fun and I barely got sunburned (even though we were there from 11am till almost 5pm). Travis #1 took 300 photos, (I only took 100 someodd). Travis #2 had never been to the Denver Zoo, so it was fun showing him around. They've made tons of changes since I went to the zoo last time.
Today was odd.
Woke up hell early because I had to see the new nuerologist today. It was both good news and bad news. Good news, I am totally healthy in all aspects and have had every full workup possible, my body is fine. Bad news, I am totally healthy and despite all the tests and whatnot, they have no reason why I am getting migraines, dizzy, and falling (alot!). Soooo...the last step is an allergy test. That is the only other possible factor that could be causing my migraines is some allergy (besides grinding my teeth which will be fixed a week from today).
But I was soooo tired today. The doctor said fatigue could be caused by my Toporol (preventative medication) and she is pretty sure that is what is causing my low blood pressure and lightheadedness.
She gave me two new meds, one is Topamax (preventative medication), it is an anti-seizure and migraine prevention medication. It's side effects include weight loss (Heck yes!) and possible spaceyness/foggyness (which if I do get, I have to stop taking it completely, it doesn't get better while taking it). I take it in conjuction with the Toporol for the first month.
The other medication is Midrin. It is supposed to get rid of the migraine once I get it. I can take it along with the Imitrex since they both work differently.
Let's see I am now up to 8 daily meds (which will increase because I have to take double doses of Topamax starting next week, it is a medication that has to build up in your system like the Toporol). I hate to think what I will it'll be like when I am in my sixties (157 daily meds!).
So I came home, and felt really tired. I thought I'd play some Halo campaign and then work on some baking and housework after lunch. As I played I got more and more sleepy. I had lunch, and then around 2pm, I completely crashed. Fell asleep on the couch, woke up after about an hour, and went to bed. I didn't wake up until the phone rang at 5pm. Tidied up a bit, then fell back asleep. And I was crashing hard, went from awake to REM sleep fast. It was a weird combo dreams with CSI, speed dating, and video games.
Dad woke me up around 6 and had me take out the trash. I woke up with a migraine. I had gotten the migraine about 15-20min earlier but was able to fall asleep. I could barely stand up. I worked very slowly and was able to get up and down the stairs and didn't fall. I had to brace myself the entire time. I was sick to my stomach, dizzy, and exteremly light and noise sensitive. I was in sooo much pain. I took and Imitrex, barely, my whole body was shaking...I also took a Midrin. I went to bed, but didn't sleep. I was shaking, crying, and just in whole ton of pain from the migraine. I had to block out every sound and bit of light possible, or it just made things worse. Around 8, I finally got up and had a bit of dinner.
I still feel like shit.
